Today (Friday) we had a group of volunteers arrive from Texas. We are working on setting up a kitchen in a kindergarten about a block away from a building owned by a local Baptist congregation. Believers from this church will be helping us with the feeding of the refugees that are currently living at the kindergarten. There is approximately 115 people living at this facility. There are 18 such kindergartens with refugees living in them spread throughout the city of Gori. We are waiting to hear from officials before expanding our feeding efforts to other areas. An Italian organization is working with the UN to feed the refugees in the tent cities that have been set up. We have already passed out some of the MRE's that have been delivered in the days after to the conflict. We have also put together 1,500 hygiene kits for the refugees. These hygiene kits include things like soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, washing powder, etc. We have also bought baby food and other things for babies as part of our efforts here.
